Top 5 Most Terrifying Weapons

A pretty scary list put together by The Daily Interweb shows some of the 5 most terrifying weapons we (mankind) have created so far. I have to agree with them although EVE from Wal-E had quite some destructive power, oh wait that was just a movie.

2. The Trident SLBM
The result of all of this research leaves us with the Trident II D5, which is a submarine launched ballistic missile.  Deployed by both the United States and United Kingdom, the Trident II is one of the most powerful weapons system in use today.  (America’s most powerful land based missile, the Peacekeeper was taken offline in 2005.)

How Geeks Make Breakfast

hey guys and girls, new guy on the block here, names troy, juzza decided he wanted another nerd in the troops, so… here i am, i’ll probably post up a lot of computer and electronics crap, but i’ll certainly make sure its worth a laugh or two. and i’ll try and throw in some random stuff while im at it.

anyway, enough of me, heres my first post (juzza decided to tell me to introduce myself just as i was nearing completion of this post, so hey, kill 2 birds with one stone as they say, i reckon that’d be a damn lucky shot to pull off)

Your favourite morning frying pan on the fritz? Got a few of those old useless pentium I processors lying around in a drawer somewhere?

Well, never fear, try this on for size, a cyrix hotplate, stick a few old cyrix or ibm(now known as “International Boiling Machine”) to a piece of thin steel sheet, hook up some zap zap and start frying!!

Cyrix hotplate

and another one for good measure

A Lesson in Bandwidth Theft - Don’t.

Logging into WP I noticed someone was hotlinking an image from DARKCOLD. Rather than remove the image or email them complaining (both of those being highly boring) I decided to do the most evil thing that came to mind; replace the image with the lemonparty.org image. Now I highly advise against any DC’ers going to the lemonparty website as it is extremely disturbing (which is why I didn’t link it), instead just look at the screenshots below and you can probably guess what’s happening in the screenshot and what’s been blacked out (original isn’t blacked out).

On the left how the website was, the right how it is as of posting. I wonder how long until they notice. (Their profile if you want to let them know). EDIT: Here’s a link to the website if you’d like to see for yourself, though it is disturbing (you’ve been warned!).

An application to make me think twice about the iPhone - REV

I’ve always had a dim view about the iPhone, that is until now! DevToaster has created REV, an application that allows one to plug the iPhone (and presumably the iPod touch) into a car capable of outputting OBDII and displays information such as revs, km/h, airflow meters, fuel ratio and much more. If they make it compatible with Holdens (specifically the VS V6) then it might be enough to push me to upgrade handsets.

We’re not able to use it just yet as an OBDII -> WLAN interface is required but given time that will be available. Sure beats having to plug a notebook in through the USB cable (though carputers are awesome). Give the creators website a visit to find out more.

Top 10 Greatest Gaming Cars

Jalopnik has put together a list of the ten greatest cars featured in Video Games. Most of them are spot on, especially number two although I’m disappointed by the omission of the Eagle Mk. 3 from Carmageddon 2 (IMO the best of the Carmageddon series, much better than the disappointing TDR2000). The Eagle was a car to be feared, taking down vehicles of gigantic proportion (such as a monstrous dump truck).

A 1996 McDonalds Hamburger - 12 Years later

This comes as no surprise to me, one of our cars had a McDonalds french fry in it which we suspected was at least a few years old and looked nearly the same as a brand new one.

Looks just like any Maccas hamburger (although much plainer)? Yeah, it’s twelve years old! Click here to read the article, although if I weren’t trying to cut back on unhealthy foods I’d still have a big mac.. shameful.
