Cool Weapon Inspired Designs

From the things we don’t see everyday department are these designs which have been inspired by weapons. Although all of them are cool this one’s still a weapon (strictly for self defense) so it’s my fave:

With this umbrella accompanying your next rainy day walk to the office, that back alley mugger will think twice about asking for your pocket book.  The Birkiland Umbuster Umbrella is a deadly piece of protection against rain and agression alike.  If a raindrop or ne’er-do-well approaches, you can proudly say “Ask yourself, punk, do you feel lucky?”

Bulletproof Jacket

Posted: March 9th, 2007 (5:54pm) by Juzza

So casual, here’s a bullet proof jacket.. No more worrying about being shot for your Nokia N76 or over the top computer mouse (not sure why you would be carrying THAT on you anyway, wouldn’t you have hired help for that?!)..

This jacket offers a protection level to NIJ STD 0101.04 level 11A and European Police Standard for tactical vests RPS B (1999).

Make sure to laugh at the person trying to disadvantage you, until they shoot you in the leg or something! Check it out here.

Lego Desert Eagle - Now Kids can hold up Servos too

Posted: January 27th, 2007 (1:45pm) by Juzza

This is an impressive looking creation considering it’s entirely lego!

lego_deagle_dont_shoot_me_with_it.jpg

The IMI Desert Eagle .50 caliber handgun is considered by many to be the ultimate weapon. With a bullet large enough to stop a truck, it’s hard to deny that a hand cannon like this makes a statement. A gun this big is more like a rifle, and not just because of its huge dimensions; the technology on the inside resembles them as well. Most semi-automatic pistols use short recoil or blow-back systems but the D.E. uses a gas-operated mechanism more commonly found in assault rifles. The rotating bolt and locking mechanism also bear a strong resemblance to those in M16 rifles. This is more than a gun, it’s a wave of destruction. Shooting one is less like firing a bullet and more like launching an artillery shell, which is exactly why it has been banned in many parts of the world.

Ah yes. Click here to check out brickgun and see all of their lego creations.

Gauss Pistol - Weapon From the Future?

Posted: December 25th, 2006 (11:17pm) by Juzza

Nah it ain’t from the future.. pretty limited at the moment but I’m impressed by the principle and how far things are coming along. One day it’ll happen.. one day!

dscn2432-683x529.jpg

In the future it won’t fire deadly projectiles however, but rather cupcakes and then we’ll have cupcakes and no more wars (yeah right :P). Click here to check it out, and be sure to check out the links on the left for more information and some videos I couldn’t watch because I refuse to install Quicktime.

EDIT: Thanks to hakhawk you can download the two videos here and here. I guess he hates Quicktime as well!

Tijuana Police Force’s newest weapon - Slingshots?!

Originally posted by Juzza on January 25th, 2007.

This I don’t know what to say WTF!

TIJUANA, Mexico - The police department has issued about 60 slingshots to officers in the violent border city of Tijuana, where soldiers confiscated police weapons two weeks ago on allegations of collusion with drug traffickers. Municipal police spokesman Fernando Bojorquez said Monday that the slingshots, along with bags of ballbearings, were given to officers patrolling areas of the city visited by tourists. Tijuana’s police force of 2,000 officers has been without guns since Jan. 5, but some patrol alongside armed state police.

Now I really have read everything. Click here to read even more.
