That was quick indeed!

Already time to consider one of these.

They didn’t say it like that, but it’s basically what they’re trying to say. Some copies of Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 shipped with a serial number which was missing a character (19 instead of the 20 required) due to a printing error. EA’s response (and I’m not making this up):

There is currently a work around that may allow you to bypass this issue. Since you have the first 19 characters of the code already, you can basically try “guessing” the last character. To do this, simply enter your existing code, and then for the last character, try the letters A-Z, and then the numbers 0-9. You should eventually get the right combination, and be able to play the game. If this does not work, you can follow the instructions below.

I found this collection of videos posted by gamepro and had to share, the common thing making them all related is their use of Nintendo’s mascot Mario trying to flog various products. Just look at this commercial for milk:

That never happened when I was playing Super Mario 64 (OK I lie it did, after I drank some expired milk). At least it has a positive message. The others are all negative (McDonalds, Sugary Cereal, Mac and Cheese), but still good for a laugh. Check out the full list here.

By modifications I’m not referring to hacking up the system to run homebrew or back-ups. No, the modifications I refer to are of the old school aesthetic kind which we all adore and love. But what could people possibly do to make their PS3’s stand out from the rest? Of coarse there’s colorware stepping in to make it any colour you wish (including the controllers), but what else have people come up with? Here’s one of my favorites from the list brought forward by PS3 Maven:

I never knew. I’d heard of people had done it themselves (very passionate people), even how to do it (using mineral oil acquired from a veterinarian). Still it’s a damned neat (and very unique in a good way) way to go about cooling a computer. In a way it kind of reminds me of those pre-made refrigerator cases. Hardcore Computers is the company to turn to, and for $5560 (presumably USD) you too can have an über 1337 gaming rig.

Although I knew about a few of these, overall this list created by tech radar is pretty interesting for someone who’s curious about other things their Wii can do. Here’s one if you like the blue glowing:

2. Add a smooth, constant blue glow to your WiiThe blue lighting around the disc slot normally only glows when the Wii’s got some sort of announcement for you, and disappears once you’ve read it. However, you can lend your lounge a sci-fi feel by making that tastefull glow permanent. Just email your own Wii - using the system in the tip above - but never read the message (which can take up to an hour to arrive, incidentally). As long as it stays unread, that cheeky light will keep on twinkling.
