11 Amazing PS3 Modifications

By modifications I’m not referring to hacking up the system to run homebrew or back-ups. No, the modifications I refer to are of the old school aesthetic kind which we all adore and love. But what could people possibly do to make their PS3’s stand out from the rest? Of coarse there’s colorware stepping in to make it any colour you wish (including the controllers), but what else have people come up with? Here’s one of my favorites from the list brought forward by PS3 Maven:

This great remale of Rainbow Six Playstation 3 was found at Technabob with all its glory and concept. It is a sight to the eyes, making it an ultimate part of this PS3 Mod collection.

Now you too can say you’ve seen the PS3 made into a building (though they’ve all had a lot of work put into them to make them all great). Clicky to see the whole list.

Ken Kutaragi’s Finest Moments

Posted: January 15th, 2007 (5:47pm) by Juzza

Really though, nobody even comes close to matching Ken’s amazingly flawless logic.. no wonder the PS3s are flying off the shelves and no one wants an X360 or Wii (I’m using “Ken Speak” :P)

“Microsoft shoots for the moon. Sony shoots for the sun.”

Uhhh.. Okie Dokie, good luck with that, Sony, WHEN YOU’RE FREAKIN’ BURNING TO DEATH :O

“With the PS3, our intentions have been to create a machine with supercomputer calculation capabilities for home entertainment.”

Seems ridiculously over-complicated to me!

“The PS3 will instill discipline in our children and adults alike. Everyone will know discipline.”

Oh no! I don’t want Sony instilling anything into me! *hides*

Amazingly there’s even more here! Though it’s from 2005, it’s still fun.

Juz’s Top 8 PSP Games and Homebrew

8. flOw

The first time I played this game was on my computer, while it was an incomplete beta flash movie. It was later finished and sold for the PS3 and later the PSP. It’s a visual treat where the player controlled creature eats other creatures to become bigger/stronger and descends lower (into the ocean?) to face bigger/stronger creatures. I love this game and it would have been higher in the list, except for it’s fatal flaw - it’s too short! I completed this game in under 90 minutes (which is never a good thing), but being a PSN download and not a full UMD game there is a bit of justification in there.

Incredibly the PC version is still available online, and can be played at the authors website here!

PSN DRM Destroyed for PSP

Well isn’t that something interesting and refreshing to wake up to - The DRM encyrption on the PSN released PSP games has been crushed. With the release of this tool (NPDecryptor) people who have purchased the software and are able to play it on the PSP running the application have the ability to remove the DRM, allowing the software to work on any PSP. Currently this only works on original PSP titles, not on the PSone games which are also available.

Some will say it’s a huge win for piracy on the PSP, while others are saying it’s going to prevent people from developing for the platform now. I say if the product’s good enough it should be able to sell even in the face of piracy. I guess the only legit use this could have is for people who own like 10 PSPs, which I’m sure if they did the licence on the software wouldn’t allow it to be installed on that many at once anyway.

You can download the program from DARKCOLD here, and read the uproar in the MaxConsole Forums here.
