Best. Alarm Clock. Ever.

My fascination with cool clocks continues. This time though I think I’ve found the coolest ever made. Only available in Japan, the Gun O’ Clock is exactly as the name suggests - you have to shoot the alarm (no, not with a coil gun) to turn the thing off.

Best of all it scores your accuracy and even comes with a “hard mode” which means 5 shots in a row. From who else but Bandai (and a broken engrish google translation here).

Stylish Computer Speakers

I’m a big fan of cool and interesting technology designs (like the Das Keyboard or USB Webmail Notifier), so naturally I was excited to see walyou has put together a list of 16 cool computer speakers. There has always been interesting speaker which may look good but not necessarily sound good, the list is probably full of them (with the exception of number two, the Ferrari speakers). One of my favorites:

Imagine the iPod Earbuds but 500 times the regular size. That is what UberReview presented with these computer speakers.

They look hilarious. Click here to see the list!

Electric Porsche a reality thanks to RUF

So I guess the rumours were true, RUF, a specialized tuner manufacturer of Porsche’s (think HSV to Holden or FPV to Ford) has revealed their eRUF concept. From the outside it looks the same as a 911 except for badging, but under the boot and bonnet a different kind of system exists.

USB Webmail Notifier

I have to confess how I feel about USB gadgets; a lot of them are complete rubbish. But from the rubbish comes something which is actually useful. Similar to the Nintendo Wii, the USB Webmail Notifier will light up when you have email, but what seals the deal is it can check webmail accounts like GMail or Yahoo! mail.

Check it out via USB Geek.

Shape Shifting BMW Gina Concept

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear someone say “fabric car”? If you thought of the Czechoslovakian Velorex Dreirrad (pictured) then we’re not on the same wavelength, what are you doing on DARKCOLD?!

What I’m talking about is the BMW Gina Concept, one of Chris Bangles best (although older) designs which even by todays standards looks sensational. The Gina is unique in that it can “grow” structural components as required. It’s hard to explain so hopefully this video does a better job than I can.

Your favourite morning frying pan on the fritz? Got a few of those old useless pentium I processors lying around in a drawer somewhere?

Well, never fear, try this on for size, a cyrix hotplate, stick a few old cyrix or ibm(now known as “International Boiling Machine”) to a piece of thin steel sheet, hook up some zap zap and start frying!!

Cyrix hotplate

and another one for good measure
